Counting on from 5

I am learning to keep 5 in my head and count on.  We play the board games to help us practice this.

" I can do the dice counting.  I roll the dice and I put the counter on the number.  I put 5 in my head and count it up."said Zayaan

Phonics

We are learning to listen and record the sounds we can hear.  We are able to blend the sounds altogether.  We can use our phonics at Story writing and Reading time to help us.

" I can write words by myself because we robot them at Story writing, Phonics and Reading" said Zayaan

Dinosaurs

We have been reading stories and talking about Dinosaurs. 

These photos show the writing process. We started with the 'draft stage', where students try to use the skills they have been taught. After 'conferencing' with the teacher and 'editing', they produce the 'published work' for their audience to enjoy.

My fish

We have been learning how to draw fish with scales.  We retold the story in our own words.

Cats

I have been learning how to draw a cat.  I can mix colours together and I can also use charcoal to show shading.

Deep in the compost bin!

As part of our inquiry we have been looking at creatures that dwell in the darkness of our compost bins.

After we observed and handled these creatures, watched video clips and read books about them; we wrote these fabulous stories.

Part of the writing process is presenting our finished work in a way the captures our readers attention. We hope you enjoy viewing our quality work!

Number problems to 10

This game is helping you to learn to solve problems to 10 and write a matching number sentence.

" I can do counting out. My numbers get tricky going the right way. " Zayaan

Beginning sounds

I am learning to make the first sound and look at the whole word to see if it makes sense when I read a sentence.

Maths

I am learning to count on from any number up to 10.  I am learning to write my number the correct way.

Zayaan said " I can write some numbers in the bus.  I can write up to 20."

Reading

I am learning to point to the words and make the first sounds for words I do not know.

Zayaan said " I can make the first sound because you have to listen because it helps me to learn."

Scooter day

We are learning to keep ourselves safe when we are on a scooter.

Story writing

I am learning to write my story by myself.  I can use my word card and my sounds to help me write the words.

Zayaan said " I can write my story with finger spaces and full stops."
